Before that, she received her associate degree from the Bucks County Community College where she studied voice with Helen Holcombe and Jerry Nowak and piano with Ed Ferdinand and Tom Lawton. Aimée has a strong background in musical theater, and performs regularly at the Kelsey Theater in NJ and at the ActorsNET of Bucks County. She has taught music classes for the Morrisville school district for eight years, and taught voice and piano lessons at R&M Music Studios in Langhorne, PA and at NHTunes in Manchester, NH. She has been musical director for Downstage Center Dance Studio performances and also provides monologue and vocal coaching for theater or college auditions. In addition to singing for Big Band and Symphonic Orchestras, Aimée has performed her popular cabaret shows throughout the tri-state and East Coast area, and performed at the Duplex in NYC. She was the opening performance at the Kimmel Center in Philadephia for: ‘Sondheim: A Celebration’ and was asked to perform again as part of their highly anticipated Summer Solstice series. Matt South (voice/piano) teaches general music and sixth grade chorus at Charles Boehm Middle School in the Pennsbury School District. He is a graduate of West Chester University of PA where he earned his bachelor’s degree in music. While at West Chester, he studied voice with Randall Scarlata, Anne Gross and Emily Bullock. He has sung under the batons of Dr. David DeVenney, Dr. Jane Wyss and Dr. Ovidiu Marinescu in such great choral works as Beethoven’s 9th, the Durefle Requiem and the Messiah Choruses. Matt has a strong background in both musical theatre and opera, and has performed the roles of Belmonte in Mozart’s “Abduction from the Seraglio” and The Witch in Humperdinck’s “Hansel and Gretel.” He frequently acts onstage and performs the role of Musical Director for community theatre productions in New Jersey at The Kelsey Theatre and in Pennsylvania at the ActorsNET of Bucks County.
Amanda O’Brien (voice/piano/acoustic guitar) is a 2013 graduate of Kutztown University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors Degree in Music Education and Vocal Performance. After graduating Cum Laude, Amanda has had a variety of professional experiences that allow her to adjust to the learning style of each student. She has held several internships, most notably with the Bristol Riverside Theatre, Foundations Community Partnership and The Berks Childrens Classical Choir. Teaching elementary and middle school aged children is where Amanda excels. Some classroom teaching experiences include student teaching at Hamburg Middle School, specializing in the Acoustic Guitar, and the Cumru Elementary School. Amanda is a trained Soprano and starting in September 2013 has performed with The Reading Pop Symphony, The Trenton Community Singers and Princeton ProMusica.
Evan Scheerer (guitar/bass) is a professional musician and has studied guitar methods for more than fifteen years and bass for eight years. Growing up in a musically eclectic household, he became interested in and studied several styles of music including rock, folk, classical, blues, jazz, soul and musical theatre – to name a few. Evan began his professional career ten years ago as the founder of the Wingmen, a band that reflected his broad range of musical tastes and abilities. Evan plays bass guitar in the pit band for Bucks County Technical High School’s annual musical performances and has arranged and performed classical music for several weddings and events in the tri-state area. He is currently a member of the progressive rock band Syrrah, and has performed with them across the Mid-Atlantic region. He also performs solo shows playing classic folk music and originals. Evan looks forward to teaching and guiding aspiring musicians to express themselves through the art of guitar. Watch video of Evan playing here.
Josh Frimet (percussion/beginner/intermediate band instruments) is a 2007 alumnus of Harry S Truman High School where he was an active member of Marching Band, Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Indoor Drum Line and Holiday Ensemble. Josh is currently a senior Music Education major at the Boyer College of Music and Dance at Temple University. He was a marching band member for five seasons. Other ensemble membership includes: Percussion Ensemble, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble, Collegiate Band and Basketball Band. He studied under Profs. Glenn Steele and Phillip O’Banion for Orchestral Percussion, Timpani under Bill Wozniak, Jazz Drumset with Steve Fidyk and Tony Miceli for Jazz Vibraphone. Josh has been teaching for the last two years to percussion students desiring to study and learn snare drum, mallet instruments and drum set. Josh has played percussion and drum set for several musicals throughout the Bucks County Area including: Town and Country Players in Buckingham, PA, Harry. S Truman High School, and the Bucks County Technical High School.This year will be Josh’s third season on staff with the Truman Tiger Marching Band and he is proud to be teaching again in his home district.
Melissa Clark (violin/cello/viola) Melissa graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Bachelors of Music Education. She has been teaching in Lawrence Township Public Schools since 2005. Prior to Lawrence township she taught music in other school districts throughout NJ. Last year, Melissa was named Teacher of the year at Lawrence Middle School which is part of the Governor’s Educator program for the state of NJ. She is an active member of New Jersey Music Educators Association (NJMEA) and Central Jersey Music Educators Association (CJMEA). This fall, she will be presenting at the NAfME national inservice in Grapevine, TX on suggestions for incorporating technology in the orchestra classroom. During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and their two children Hayden and Aimee.
